And that's the main responsibility of Staff engineers, to work with our engineering team on making our service better through leading teams, delivering projects, coaching, and mentoring engineers, improving our tech stack and internal processes, helping our sales and marketing department to attract new clients, collaborate with data science, product, and design teams, and basically anything that could help us deliver better service for our clients.As a Staff Engineer, We Expect You ToLead the engineering teams to execute and deliver projects successfully.Build the engineering team by finding, inspiring, and retaining talented engineers.Deliver work as a software engineer and be responsible for architecture design, feature implementation, and code reviews.Provide supervision and guidance to other engineers, manage their career development, perform and evaluate performance reviews.Be a mentor and coach, talk to people regularly to better understand their situation, and help them do their best work.Actively promote a culture of lifelong learning and create opportunities for knowledge sharing.Actively seek improvements in our processes and practices and always think about improving our work environment.Promote effective communication in the organization by eliminating blockers, creating clarity, resolving conflicts, strengthening relationships, and promoting sympathy and understanding.Meet with potential clients and actively work on influencing them towards cooperation with Sudolabs.Actively cooperate with our sales and marketing team in order to find and close new projects.Work closely with our executive team on defining a strategy to drive our business through engineering. ‍Who are we looking for?Strong technical backgroundExperience with our tech stack (or at least the willingness and drive to get into it fast)Strong in system design and the architecture of digital productsDrive and motivation for keeping up with modern trends in web developmentRecent hands-on experience with deliveryE2E project delivery and leadershipYears of experience delivering E2E projects through smaller teams (3-10 people)Experience with prototyping and MVP deliveryRecent experience with directly leading an engineering teamBusiness and product-oriented mindsetA few years of experience with delivering digital products E2EExperience from working in startups or in product companies with product managers and designers, ideally if you have experience working as a PMTrack record of working with the executive team on driving business through engineeringHave at least high-level product management knowledge, ideally deep PM knowledge(Nice to have) Experience with representing engineering in sales or marketing-related activities(Nice to have) Experience from a service firm, ideally consultancyLeadership experienceExcellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts simply to a non-technical audienceTrack record of successful large engineering-related initiatives (innovations, migrations, transitions) - the ability to communicate and motivate larger groups of peopleTrack record of growing people up through mentorship and coaching(Nice to have) Track record of successfully motivating people to achieve things that were outside of their comfort zone or would be considered their top performance(Nice to have) Experience in building/hiring a teamPerk and benefitspermanent contract or trade license - choose what fits youpossibility to work from our office in Kosice or from wherever you like20 paid days/year in your work time to learn new things31 paid days/year time offflexible working hoursinternal tech talks on a regular basishardware package - MacBook or anything you needteam buildings and company retreatsSudo apartment in Kosice - for our remote colleagues who would like to spend some time with us in Kosicepossibility to purchase a Multisport cardbrand new office in the city center with parking spacepet-friendly officeregular snacks are a must, of course! ‍Once you check our careers pages, you can get a clear sense of how we work, what our values are, and what we can offer.
