Job Description SummaryThe Staff Materials Engineer provides materials expertise and technical leadership for multiple material systems across a variety of components. The focus of this role is the development and application of metallic and non-metallic materials and processes across a variety of aviation components within the supply chain and services. In this role, you will work with new products and legacy teams to solve complex technical problems. You will also work with external parties on both industry and universities to develop and execute concepts matching short-term and some long-term business goals and strategies. Join us and find an opportunity to shape the future of flight.Role OverviewProvide technical and strategic support internally within Engineering Material Systems Organization.Build partnerships with internal and external parties such as universities and industrial organizations on both metallic and non-metallic materials and processes related activities.Work with regional supply chain through leading key projects and initiatives as well as potential new supplier development activities.Work with Services and Repair organizations on new process/technology implementation and process improvement projects.Participate on business and industry teams supporting overall improvement in the application of special processes for gas turbine engine parts.Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be a highly experienced materials science engineer with deep expertise in aerospace materials development, strong knowledge of metallic and composite materials, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, build strategic partnerships, and drive innovative solutionsRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in Metallurgical & Materials Science Engineering. Master of Science and/or PhD in Materials Science Engineering is preferred.More than 10 years of experience in Materials Development and Application with strong project management experience from concepts to product level.Good level of knowledge on metallic materials and composites, their physical and mechanical properties and processing.Understanding on Aerospace business.Knowledge on external funding mechanisms within Turkey and Europe. Experience on this would be plus.A self-starter with an eye on problem solving and driving solutions with proven experience and records.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally in English.Proven self-starter and independent worker who can work with cross-functional teamsStrong teamwork and communication skills, eager to learn continuouslyDesire to work on both organizational & operational activities and technical efforts combined.Preferred QualificationsStrong understanding on Aerospace business and capability of industry and universities in Turkey.Knowledge on external funding mechanisms within Turkey and Europe.
