"Enabling people with an intellectual disability to have full and meaningful lives through quality person centred services in partnership with families"The Organisation:Cheeverstown is a voluntary organisation, regulated by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA).We provide a wide range of person centered services including residential, respite and day services to almost 400 children and adults with an intellectual disability in the south Dublin area.Purpose of the Post:The successful applicant will be a valued member of our School nursing staff team providing a range of services to children with intellectual disabilities. In line with the strategic priorities and values of Cheeverstown, the children are placed at the centre of our circle of supports.This role involves working directly with children who attend Cheeverstown School and their families, school staff and interagency professionals. The School nurse is part of and supported by Children's Services Team; Clinical Nurse Manager, School colleagues as well as the broader Cheeverstown Organisation.Person specification:Applications are invited from candidates who are currently registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in the RNID Division. Applications from other nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland who have a minimum of 1 years' experience in the area of Intellectual Disability will also be consideredHave the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. Candidates will possess a high level of communication skills and strong command of English language (both verbally and written)A flexible approach to hours to meet the needs of the service is essentialFlexible, responsive to a person-centered approach and the individual needs and abilities of the personCandidates should be proficient in I.T. One years' experience supporting people with an intellectual disability is desirable. Other requirements specific to the post:Knowledge of Irish HealthcareExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience displaying a high level of professionalism in working with familiesFull driver's licensePlease note: All job offers are subject to two successful references, ongoing Garda Vetting, relevant qualifications and a satisfactory pre-employment medical.
