Automation Technician

Our client is looking to add a proactive Automation Technician to their growing manufacturing operation. This position involves working with sophisticated automation, robotic platforms, and control technologies to keep high-volume production running efficiently and safely. If you enjoy tackling technical challenges and want to advance your career in a modern, highly automated environment, this role offers an excellent opportunity.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, service, and troubleshoot automated production machinery, robotic equipment, and control systems.Identify and repair issues across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-driven equipment.Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.Support the commissioning, integration, and validation of new automated systems, including programming modifications and system setup.Collaborate with engineering and production on new product introduction activities and ongoing process optimisation.Ensure all equipment meets regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements, including ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 standards.RequirementsA Level 6 or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a closely related field.At least 2 years’ experience working with automation in a manufacturing setting; experience within injection moulding or medical devices is a strong advantage.Good working knowledge of PLC platforms (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens), robotics, sensing technologies, and vision systems.Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Ability to work a 4-cycle shift pattern.If this is of interest, please apply or reach out to me!caustin@barringtonjames.com
