Brothers Of Charity Services –west RegionPOST: STAFF NURSE/*ENHANCED NURSE1 x Permanent Part-Time 72 hours a fortnightATHLONE/ROSCOMMON ADULT SERVICES(Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town)Ref: 87643A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.We wish to recruit innovative, creative and motivated people who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision as part of a team. We are looking for people who will be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individuals they support and are open to change.Location:Athlone/Roscommon Adult Services (Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Athlone/Roscommon Adult Services and this work location may change due to future service needs.The Role:Staff Nurses and Enhanced Staff Nurses fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for adults supported by the service in all aspects of their lives, focusing on each individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Staff Nurse and Enhanced Staff Nurse will assist people with the development of person-centred plans and critically, will support people to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and encourage positive risk taking in leading to informed choices.Qualifications & Experience:Candidates must have -A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID or RGN qualification is essential. A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads is an essential requirement. It may also be necessary for the appointee to obtain a Class D1 Driving Licence (if not already in possession of one). Assistance will be given towards this purpose of obtaining a class D1 licence. Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability/autism/complex needs is desirable, however, induction and training will be provided. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post and proficiency in I.T. skills. Good organisational and planning skills, with the ability to support goal setting and following through to the achievement of outcomesCreativity, initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and good judgementCommitment to current best practice internationally and co-operating in an interdisciplinary team environment with a person-centred philosophyExcellent listening skills, patience and a sense of humourWorking Hours: 1 x Permanent Part time 72 hours per fortnightAll posts are based on a 14-day duty roster. The successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers and night duty to meet service needs.The Brothers of Charity Services model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures quality and person centred planning system requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each person supportedAnnual Leave:24 days pro rata per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively.Remuneration (Department of Health salary scales as at 01/08/2025 apply):Staff Nurse – €37,288 x 12 increments - €53,873 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Long Service Increment €55,477 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.Enhanced Nurse – € 44,311 x 7 increments - €55,644 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Long Service Increment €57,273 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. As per HSE HR Circular 022/2019 – Nursing and Midwifery - the Enhanced Nurse / Midwife Practice Contract https://www.hse.ie/eng/staff/resources/hr-circulars/hr-circular-022-2019-re-enhanced-nurse-midwife-contract.pdf; once a staff nurse reaches point 4 on the Staff Nurse salary scale, they become eligible to apply for the role of Enhanced Nurse. Any Staff Nurse who wishes to avail of the Enhanced Nurse role will have to submit an application and also meet the qualifying criteria. Salary quoted is based on a 37.5 hour working week. The successful candidate will be granted incremental credit subject to satisfactory verification of previous relevant nursing service.Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays, and sleep-ins and night duty when worked.
