Company: Ocean Hotels BarbadosJob SummaryTo effectively clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces and contents according to HACCP regulations. The Steward must represent the highest standard of excellence in kitchen cleanliness and organization and promptly and suitably assist with all kitchen operations.SCOPEUnder the direction of the Chief Steward/ Executive Chef, the steward must efficiently and effectively maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen areas to the highest of standards.ResponsibilitiesTo ensure the dishwasher is loaded with glassware and cutlery as needed and they are cleaned and sanitizedTo ensure the kitchen walls are clean To ensure the ice machines is clean and sanitizedTo ensure all equipment are clean and polishTo ensure the dishwasher is working properlyTo ensure pots, pans and utensils used by the cooks are properly cleaned and sanitizedTo keep and maintain a clean workstation at all times. To sweep and mop the kitchen as needed.To ensure all items on the cleaning schedule is followedTo ensure all kitchen drains are properly cleaned.To ensure the kitchen yard is properly cleaned and sanitized.To ensure all kitchen garbage cans are always at a minimum and garbage is properly discarded into the skip. To promptly, efficiently and creatively set up for all buffets and functions.To always keep and maintain a high standard of cleaning and sanitizing in compliance with HACCP regulations. To ensure cleaning schedules and checklists of duties are completed before end of shift by stewardsKnowledge, Skills And Personal AttributesKnowledgeGraduated Secondary SchoolNo experience required Training will be provided SkillsThe Steward Supervisor must demonstrate the following skills:Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Time management skills.Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.Must be neat, professional and well groomed.Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds. (lifting above the shoulder may also be required)Ability to relate well to hotel guests and employees.Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.Positive attitude and outgoing personality are essential.Must be able to work shifts.
