As an heir to her father André Messika's diamond legacy, Valerie has combined tradition with modern luxury.As Messika continues to expand across Asia, we are seeking a Store Project Manager based in Tokyo to oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of our boutiques in Japan, ensuring each space reflects the Maison’s exceptional standards and identity.The GoalAs Store Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all store design and construction projects across Japan. From planning and design development to execution and maintenance, you will ensure that every boutique embodies the Maison’s luxury codes, architectural excellence, and client experience standards.Your mission : deliver outstanding boutiques that enhance Messika’s visibility and reinforce our presence in the Japanese market.What you do ?Store design & Construction Project ManagementPrepare kick off packages by collecting, controlling & submitting all information that is required by central SDP to start working (site survey packages, drawings, photo reports, technical constrains, LL guideline highlights etc).Consolidate boutique brief in collaboration with different departments: the positioning, zoning, the local touch adaption, clientele orientations, specific needs in terms of furniture, BOH etc.Handle store design by reviewing concept design from central SDP, providing feedback, and validating design to ensure it tallies with boutique brief, budget, local constrains and guidelines.Design execution, tender, construction procurement, work closely with all relevant departments (retail, operation, merchandising, VM, IT, security, marketing, central SDP, central furniture etc) within the Maison and externally with all consultants, architects, contractors, LL, central appointed suppliers etc.Control and manage project schedule – milestone, opening dateDuring production and construction phase: control the quality of millwork is in line with Maison’s standards.Fully engage with key project stakeholders to ensure that accurate and appropriate information is communicated on time.Projects execution and lead regular site meetings with external parties including contractors, consultants, and landlord representatives to comply with the highest Maison standards, reinforcing at every opportunity for satisfactory boutique opening.Manage challenges in project lifecycle, identify potential crisis and define mitigation plan.Manage planned and ad hoc repairs and maintenance needs.Quality, Sustainability & ConsistencyEnsure highest quality standards and set up action plans in collaboration with Central SDP and contractors.Arrange inspections to supplier’s factories, construction site and final execution.Define and control the budget to ensure the sustainability of projects.Propose production details to improve the durability of boutique finishes and millwork.Provide technical assistance, in collaboration with the retail operations team on boutique maintenance or repair when required.Contractor & Supplier ManagementConstruction quality control throughout the project life cycle.Survey / analysis of suppliers.Extend contractor and consultant pool.Cost ManagementControl project budgets in collaboration with management and central SDP.Review and validate quotations, track payments, and manage procurement processes.Ensure all costs align with approved budgets and project objectives.Job ProfileExperience & QualificationsDegree in Architecture, Construction, or a related field.Minimum 5 years’ experience in store design, construction, or project management, ideally within the luxury or fashion retail industry.Strong understanding of retail fit-out standards, compliance, and construction practices in Asia.Proficient in AutoCAD, with solid technical knowledge in carpentry, electrical systems, and interior fit-outs.Skills RequiredExcellent communication, negotiation, and coordination abilities.Strong project management skills with attention to detail and organization.Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive and solution-oriented attitude.A refined sense of luxury aesthetics and store design.Collaborative team player with curiosity, flexibility, and a drive for excellence.Fluent in English and Japanese; French is a plus.
