Location: Surrey, BCSalary: $90,000 – $113,000 annually (commensurate with experience)Schedule: Full-time, permanentBenefits: Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, pension, vacation, and 13 paid holidaysAbout the OpportunityWe are currently supporting a large public sector organization in Surrey, BC in their search for a Strategic Sourcing Lead to join their procurement leadership team. This organization plays a vital role in supporting over 80,000 individuals across 120+ facilities, and is deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and equitable employment practices.As the Strategic Sourcing Lead, you will report to the Manager of Purchasing and play a key role in advancing strategic procurement initiatives. You’ll lead a small team and oversee the full sourcing lifecycle, driving efficiency, innovation, and compliance across multiple categories, including capital projects, IT, education, and facilities.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment and is eager to make a meaningful impact in their community.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end sourcing and procurement projects across assigned categories, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial objectives.Develop and implement category strategies and procurement policies that support operational efficiency and cost savings.Supervise and mentor a team of sourcing professionals, providing training, guidance, and performance management.Conduct supplier market research, vendor evaluations, and contract negotiations to achieve best value and mitigate risk.Manage vendor relationships, performance standards, and service-level agreements.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand organizational needs and deliver effective procurement solutions.Utilize data analytics and reporting tools (PowerBI, ERP, eProcurement) to drive insight and continuous improvement.Stay informed of industry trends, public sector procurement laws, and best practices to enhance departmental performance.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years of progressive procurement experience, including leading complex sourcing projects.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline preferred.Professional procurement certification such as SCMP or equivalent required; project management designation is an asset.Strong understanding of public sector procurement principles, policies, and RFx processes.Proven experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.Proficiency in ERP, eProcurement systems, and advanced Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Teams, PowerBI).What’s OfferedCompetitive annual salary range of $90 - 113KComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, EFAP, and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan13 paid holidays, plus 4 weeks vacation and sick time - Great benefitsSupportive, inclusive workplace culture that values fairness, openness, and belongingIf you’re an experienced procurement professional passionate about strategic sourcing, leadership, and community impact, we’d love to connect.
