We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.About This RoleAs part of Intersect’s Strategy and Business Development team, you’ll help define the next steps of Intersect’s growth. You’ll manage analytics, competitive intelligence, and market assessment of business models, technologies, and commercial structures in the energy and digital infrastructure space. You’ll coordinate with teams across development, engineering, and finance to better understand business opportunities and constraints. Team OverviewThe Strategy and Business Development team sits at the heart of Intersect’s approach. Incorporating components of development, finance, engineering, and sales, the Strategy and Business Development team sets long-term strategy for Intersect’s development pipeline and leads assessment of emerging technologies and commercial structures.What You’ll DoBuild and Own Financial Models • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for innovative commercial structures and emerging technologies • Translate technical and operational inputs into financial insights that guide investment and partnership decisionsAnalyze New Opportunities • Research market trends, competitors, and new technologies across the energy and digital infrastructure landscape • Present clear, data-backed recommendations to inform strategy and pipeline developmentAdvance Techno-Economic Modeling • Evaluate the feasibility and economics of integrated energy systems • Generate insights into cost, performance, and value creation for new technologies and operating modelsSupport Strategic Initiatives • Contribute to corporate- and project-level capital raises, including due diligence and investor materials • Support portfolio and resource allocation decisions through quantitative and qualitative analysisDrive Commercial Growth and Partnerships • Identify and support execution of new commercial opportunities across Intersect’s portfolio • Help manage and strengthen strategic relationships with key partners and stakeholdersExplore New Frontiers • Participate in special projects such as M&A evaluations, new market entries, and product strategy assessmentsWhat You’ll Bring • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience • 1–4 years of experience in energy, digital infrastructure, investment banking, or consulting • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel, with the ability to simplify complex data and concepts for diverse audiences • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting technical and financial topics clearly. • Familiarity with energy topics and market dynamics • Curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset that thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments • (Bonus) Coding experience in Python, R, or MATLAB for analytics or engineering applications • (Bonus) Experience deriving insights from large datasets such as market data, telemetry, or operational performance dataTotal RewardsAt Intersect, we care about your well-being, growth, and balance.
