Position Summary :The Strategy and Project Consultant will support the execution of strategic initiatives, including the development of strategic and annual plans, and related deliverables. This role will also be responsible for reporting on effective operating systems and methods to achieve both short-term plans and long-term objectives. A key function of the Strategy and Project Consultant will be to operationalize strategic initiatives by applying analytical, research, project management, change management, and facilitation skills. Reporting to the Strategy Manager, the Strategy and Project Consultant will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic solutions across diverse areas.Responsibilities of this role include: overseeing and managing the objectives of the Strategic Plan; facilitating key stakeholders accountable for those objectives; developing action plans; monitoring implementation; and providing regular reports on outcomes, barriers, and recommendations to ensure the achievement of success metrics. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong project management skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-impact results. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Strategy Development and Strategy Research Assist in the development of the hospital's strategic plan, including defining goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) Design and execute research projects utilizing a variety of methodologies, including secondary research, primary research and internal data analysis. Identify and evaluate relevant data sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability. Synthesize large volumes of information into concise and insightful summaries. Analyze trends, drivers, emerging opportunities and potential threats. Develop insights and forecasts (based on, but not limited to, research and analysis of trends/environmental scan) to anticipate future market developments and inform strategic planning. Utilize statistical tools and techniques to analyze data and extract meaningful insights. Develop data visualizations (charts, graphs) to effectively communicate research findings Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured research reports and presentations summarizing key findings, insights, and recommendations. Present research findings to stakeholders across different levels of the organization Complete additional tasks as assigned Project Management Hands-on Project Management Support: Assist Project leads in the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Track project progress against established timelines and milestones, identifying potential risks and issues. Maintain and organize project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, risk logs, and change requests. Facilitate project meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking detailed minutes. Follow up on action items and ensure timely completion. Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of project management methodologies, processes, and best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the project management function. Assist in the creation and maintenance of project management templates and tools. Organizational Performance Evaluation Leverage data to support leaders in monitoring and enhancing the performance of strategic initiatives across the organization Develop reports that support organizational performance assessment and decision making Process & Operations consulting Evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of proposed strategic initiatives, including new service lines, partnerships, and technology adoption. Develop business plans and financial models to support strategic recommendations Support consulting projects to address internal and external challenges or opportunities for the organization Stakeholder Engagement and Administrative Management Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and community partners Coordinate and facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations as required Mentor and guide the work of analysts/consultants and proactively offer support tools, and advice that help them develop as professionals Demonstrate and promote the values and culture of the organization REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Engineering, Business or Health Sciences (Clinical organization experience a plus) Required – Master’s Degree strongly preferred Minimum of 2 years of project management experience on mid to large-scale projects with demonstrated understanding of project management methods, tools and techniques Prior experience in top tier management consulting or similar strategy roles strongly preferred Project experience in health care (preferably in Ontario) an asset; understanding of PROSCI change management framework an asset Certification or working towards Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with team members at all levels Ability to conduct effective briefings and presentations Excellent conflict management, problem solving, facilitation, change management skills and sound judgment abilities Ability to synthesize, structure, analyze and interpret performance data/ healthcare information Demonstrated secondary research skills (using academic and grey literature sources) Proactive and customer-focused work approach Demonstrated understanding of budgets, scheduling, planning and business acumen. High level of initiative and decisiveness with the ability to work effectively and meet competing deadlines Self-starter, team player, willing to assist colleagues, can work with reasonable supervision and eager to go beyond Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Visio and SharePoint™ with advanced skills in MS Project™ and Project Server.
