Our vision is a future-oriented building culture that contributes to climate protection, the preservation of biodiversity, and the regeneration of natural systems.Our interdisciplinary team of around 50 employees works project-based, research-driven, and practice-oriented at the intersection of science, policy, and implementation – in collaboration with partners from academia, industry, government, and civil society.About The RoleAs part of Bauhaus Earth’s mission to make the building sector a regenerative force for people and planet, this role focuses on advancing the market readiness of nature-based and circular construction solutions worldwide. You will help identify where and how change can happen — by uncovering market opportunities, addressing systemic barriers, and developing incentives that make sustainable building systems scalable and competitive.In your role as Market & Construction Development Lead, you will take ownership of a multi-country market assessment initiative with the support of our diverse team of engineers, architects, and policy experts. An experienced former strategy principal will act as your sparring partner. Together, you will build the knowledge base and strategies needed to unlock the global scale-up of sustainable housing and materials.Your mission Market AssessmentConduct multi-country market analyses to evaluate construction potential, policy environments, and adaptation willingness for sustainable housing and materials.Identify local frontrunners, universities, and innovation partners across key regions.Develop a balanced scoreboard to compare market readiness and prioritize opportunities for action. Value Chain AnalysisAnalyze value chains for nature-based building materials, including material flows, production capacities, and existing market barriers.Identify leverage points for scaling up renewable, low-carbon material systems in selected world regions (e.g., Asia, Africa, Europe). Pilot ProjectsDesign and evaluate pilot projects based on findings from market and value chain analyses.Conduct cost projections, economic evaluations, and feasibility studies to derive actionable investment and scaling recommendations.Work with local and international partners to test and refine scalable models for sustainable construction.
