Uber Eats is on a mission to become the leading delivery platform in the UK&I, one of our largest and most dynamic markets globally. The Safety team plays a crucial role in this mission, designing and managing processes and products that help to improve consumers', couriers', and merchants' experiences, in turn maximising retention and platform engagement. The team leads work covering a number of risk areas (e.g. restricted item safety & compliance, food safety & allergen management, vehicle crash prevention, interpersonal safety), and interfaces with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders.Uber Eats is hiring for a Safety Operations Manager for the UK and Ireland, reporting to the Head of Safety. In this role, you will be responsible for Restricted Item operations and safety, helping to ensure that age-restricted items such as alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceuticals are able to be compliantly and safely delivered. The role will require delivering quantitative and qualitative insights, building recommendations for solutions and improvements, and executing on key projects to make the Uber Eats marketplace safer for all its users.What You'll DoWe are looking for someone who is able to switch between long-term strategic initiatives one moment and rapid, tactical actions the next. The role will require close collaboration with other local, EMEA, and Global teams as well as cross-functional and some external stakeholders. As such, we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at managing complex stakeholder relationships, and is passionate about driving innovative solutions to deliver positive, real world impact.Feed into product ideation and design to ensure each feature adds maximum value for our users. Manage product feature rollouts / improvements across the UK and Ireland, and advocate for safety and compliance products/processes in the region Leverage internal and external data to build best-in-class insights on the key risk factors that contribute to safety incidents on the platform. Use these insights to drive decision making and design initiatives that will reduce incident rates and strengthen restricted item safety, performance, and compliance. Work with internal teams (Product, Operations, Policy, Legal, Communications) and external stakeholders (e.g. regulators, charitable organisations) to understand and drive best practice.Execute on key projects that will improve safety outcomes for our users, strengthen restricted item safety or compliance, or strengthen the restricted item offering. Maintain and improve on the processes we've built to ensure Uber Eats is the safest and most compliant platform for restaurants, couriers and eaters What You'll Need3-5 years of solid operational and analytical experience gained in a tech company, operational management, consulting, trust or safety, or similar role. Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience aligning diverse teams across local, regional, and global levels. Experience working with external stakeholders is a plus Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency working across large data sets is essentialStructured problem-solving and strategic thinking to address complex challenges and deliver scalable solutionsStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt messaging for a wide range of audiences Preferred QualificationsStrong analytical skills, with an ability to interpret data and communicate results in a compelling manner to less technical teams (e.g. leadership, commercial POCs). Must be able to leverage data insights to build actionable strategies, and have experience with analytical toolsIntermediate SQL experience is a plusExperience managing and/or tackling complex problems and working with cross-functional stakeholders
