Structural Engineering Lead

Bauwen has an opening for a structural engineering lead to join a dynamic team environment. It's imperative that the candidate has the right mindset and attitude.Mentoring , job satisfaction and excellence in execution are key ingredients at Bauwen. Position Requirements:Between 5 - 10 years' experience.Must be registered as a Pr. Eng/Tech at ECSA.Software skills: Prokon, Robot and Revit Position ResponsibilitiesWill be responsible for expanding the structural teamIt will be expected of the candidate to actively engage with existing and new clients to win more workLead the structural team and provide guidanceMust be able to work autonomouslyMentor junior engineersTake ownership of the structures teamCommunicate with management regarding progressTake initiative and identify areas where his/her structural team can improveLead by example. Typical skill set required:Technically strong, understand first principle calculations, execute/oversee designs and have attention to detail. Understand BOQs and how to populate BOQsBe able to do a project schedule, understand the interconnectivity of the various activities and maintain the schedule for structural works.Must have experience in most of the following:Apply the loading code, advantageous to have experience in crane and seismic loading.Structural steel design, including design of steel connectionsReinforced concrete designCheck drawings and bending schedulesMasonry designTimber design The position will be office based.
