Go to www.shieldea.ca for more information.Position Overview:Shield Engineering and Architecture is looking for a motivated Ontario Licensed P.Eng (strongly preferred) capable of designing, running & managing structural engineering projects.Take your career to the next level by joining our team. As part of the Shield team, the successful applicant will create various structural and/or mechanical designs and drawings using Bentley MicroStation, 2D, and 3D Autodesk CAD software.Key responsibilities:Work with the Shield team of engineers and designers to develop and deliver solutions to clients.Create structural and/or mechanical designs with point clouds.Perform site visits to collect site data.Produce 3D designs and drawings with minimum supervision.Check drawings (both fabrication and engineering) for correct content and accuracy.Help track and monitor project progress and adhering to budgets.Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers as required.Identify opportunities to improve our ability to meet and exceed client expectations.Able to constructively critique and review designs.Help train and develop junior employees.Travel as required.About you and your Qualifications:Minimum of a Diploma in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering Technology Program.5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.Experienced using Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, & Advanced Steel is preferred.Proven capability of efficiently producing engineering and fabrication drawings.Experienced working at heavy industrial sites.Experienced in monitoring and adhering to project budgets and timelines.Experience at checking drawings is an asset.Experience working with point clouds is an asset.Highly proactive with exceptional problem solving/analytical skills.Previous management experience an asset.Knowledgeable and efficient working with computers.Excellent oral & written English skills.A valid driver’s license.Travel to project sites as required.Self-starter who is motivated to be part of and contribute to the growth of the Shield team.Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Clear safety record with the ability to work on all projects and at all site locations.Benefits:Health carePaid time offRRSP matching programSchedule: Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate: Greater Sudbury, ON P3E 3E1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)License/Certification: Valid P. There is no option to work remotely.Environmental Conditions: The candidate is expected to work within the work environment listed above (mining plants, underground mines, hydroelectric stations, etc.) and work within the safety requirements of Shield and/or the client’s requirements. This may include working at heights and confined spaces.
