Polishes furniture, doors, chrome, stainless steel, etc. Washes, cleans, and disinfects walls as needed in assigned areas. Vacuums conference rooms, hallways, and offices. Performs dusting (high, low, horizontal, and vertical) assigned areas daily and as scheduled or instructed. Dusts blinds, vents, and all flat surfaces or any other surface where dust build up occurs.Percentage Of Time:50Duties/Responsibilities:Trash Collection Collects trash from assigned work areas and deposits in the appropriate outside collection containers or other designated areas.Percentage Of Time:20Duties/Responsibilities:Floor Maintenance Performs floor maintenance duties as assigned. Strip, wax, floor burnish, floor scrubbing, wet mop, dust mop and carpet cleaning.Duties/Responsibilities:Stocking Replenishes toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, deodorizers, etc. daily or as needed. Maintains work carts and closets clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.Percentage Of Time:10Classification Title:Student AssistantFLSA:Non-ExemptFTE:5Position Summary:The Building Service Worker II performs manual work in a variety of cleaning and related duties in the University Health Center (UHC), including exam rooms, restrooms, conference rooms, and offices. The work of this position involves the performance of cleaning in an assigned building area. The primary responsibility of this position is the effective use of proper methods and materials in cleaning and caring for building areas and equipment. This individual works under close supervision and follows well established routines, procedures, and infection control standards.Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position:1-year related work experience neededKnowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies : Possess the ability to read, write and understand written and/oral instructionsPhysical Demands: Work from a 3- or 6-foot stepladder. Stand and walk for an extended period. Turns, reaches, stoops, kneels, crouches and bends. Pushes or pulls wet mops and dust mops and vacuums. Lifts and carries cleaning supplies, equipment, trash, and linen. Work on knees to reach low cleaning areas for extended periods of time.
