Ref: 25/126The Directorate of Student Development and Support (SDS) in Higher Education Development and Support (HEDS) has a one-year fixed-term position for an SDS Practitioner at the Giyani campus. INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a fully completed standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and identity documents. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Further, note that candidates may be expected to make a presentation or undergo competency testing. Kindly note that these positions are open exclusively to Limpopo Province residents therefore, applicants primarily residing in the said Province will be given priority. Critical performance areasProgramme management and administration of an SDS service area.Participate in the service delivery of:- Personal counselling and therapy- Teaching Life Skills- Academic coaching and study skills- Psychometric assessments and career counselling- Workshops and awareness campaigns- Other SDS activitiesResearchQualification: A relevant master’s degree (NQF L9) in the field of Psychology/Educational Psychology.Professional registration: Registration as a psychologist (counselling/educational) with the HPCSA.Experience (minimum): Three (3) years of relevant experience in rendering psychological services in higher education to students.Knowledge • Counselling portfolios related to psychological support focus areas:• Professional knowledge of skills development and support functions: human behavior, counselling (individual, group), psycho-education• Academic development and support • Knowledge of project/programme management• Knowledge of teaching, learning, and mentorship in Higher EducationSkills • Ability to work with people individually and in teams in a partnership and leadership relationship.• Ability to apply and facilitate and present effectively.• Ability to counsel and mentor and provide guidance.• Ability to prioritize and organize, function independently and take responsibility for tasks.• Ability to operate effectively in a multi-campus team context. • Ability to take initiative and to be creative and innovative.• Ability to apply a professional code of ethics and maintain confidentiality. • Excellent end-user computing skillsSend your CV to: RecruitmentGiyaniMM@tut.ac.za Enquiries: Dr S Dockrat, Tel 012 382 5076Closing Date: 31 October 2025NB: If we have not responded within a month from the closing date, you should regard your application as unsuccessful.
