Job Description

We cannot provide advice to candidates at the application stage and will only discuss visa routes with candidates who are invited to interview.We are looking for a manager to lead a team of Student Welfare Advisors and Welfare Support Officer as well as lead and co-ordinate the provision of welfare support for students.The role ensures that students have access to effective support, advice, guidance and resources to support their mental health, physical wellbeing and overall University experience, contributing to the retention and success of students in their studies.The post holder will play a key role in safeguarding, promoting inclusion and enhancing students wellbeing across the university.The Student Welfare Manager takes a proactive lead on relevant issues concerning student welfare, working closely with the Director of Student Wellbeing and other colleagues to develop and embed welfare related policies and procedures.You Will HaveExcellent interpersonal, leadership and motivational skillsExperience of formulating policies and proceduresA track record of successfully implementing change.A degree or professional qualification and experience in student support, social work , mental health or another relevant fieldThorough understanding of student welfare related issues and approaches in Higher Education.The University is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and as such safeguarding checks will be undertaken.Safeguarding Requirements And ResponsibilitiesTo undertake safeguarding training and follow the University’s Safeguarding Children & Adults at Risk Policy at all times.To consider Safeguarding in Risk Assessment processes for events and activities you deliver.To report any disclosures or concerns using the Safeguarding Incident Form and submit this to the UK Student Recruitment and Outreach team Designated Safeguarding Officer.Please see these links for information on and .An Enhanced DBS with a child barred list check is required for this position.
