Job DetailsPosition OverviewThe Summer School EFL Teacher plays a central role in delivering a high standard of Englishlanguage tuition while also contributing to the broader student experience through academicsupport, pastoral duties, and supervision. This role requires flexibility, enthusiasm, and acommitment to student welfare.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching (20 hours per week): Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred English lessons in line with the schoolsyllabus and student needs. Adapt materials to meet different proficiency levels and learning styles. Incorporate communicative teaching methods that encourage participation, creativity,and confidence in English. Monitor student progress through regular assessment and provide feedback. Maintain accurate class registers, lesson plans, and records.Additional Duties (10 hours per week): Provide academic assistance (e.g., supporting study sessions, homework clubs,placement testing). Participate in pastoral care, acting as a first point of contact for student welfare andwellbeing. Assist with supervision duties such as meal times, break times, studentarrivals/departures, and excursions. Support the management team with student induction, testing, and end-of-coursereports. Ensure safeguarding and welfare policies are followed at all times.Qualifications & Experience A recognised ELT qualification (e.g., CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, DELTA, or equivalent). Educated to degree level (essential). Previous experience teaching EFL to young learners or teenagers (preferably in asummer school or residential setting). Experience supporting students outside the classroom (pastoral or supervisory duties)is desirable.Key Skills & Attributes Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills. Ability to motivate and inspire international learners. Flexible, proactive, and positive attitude. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.Working Conditions 30 hours per week: 20 hours teaching + 10 hours other duties. Some evening and weekend work may be required as part of the rota.
