Our more than 6,000 employees are proud to work at our state-of-the-art sawmills and other facilities, including: manufacturing, custom wood-framed windows, fabrication, millwork, veneer, cogeneration, trucking, forestry, and other operations.Currently, we are seeking a qualified Trucking Supervisor to work collaboratively with our trucking division in Medford, Wisconsin.About The PositionAssure safe workplace practices are followed and promote safety awareness through leading by exampleWork with Company managers for optimal productivity of division trucking operationsActively manage and reduce downtime through quick analysis of options and orchestrating solutionsIdentify opportunities and take measures to reduce wasted truck operations and inefficienciesMaintain documentation for department operations, disciplinary actions, safe work practices, and attendanceUnderstand and comply with applicable regulations such as OSHA, wage and hour, environmental, DOT/State laws governing commercial vehicles and driversSupervise, train, direct, and coordinate work of the department including drivers, shop crew, and related operations Effectively manage service and equipment repairs, parts inventories, and purchasingSupport and contribute to workforce development efforts in partnership with division HREffectively manage crew work time during ongoing operations, including breakdowns and emergenciesContinually assess performance, productivity, and skills of the crew, recommend and initiate solutionsManage scheduled time off, unexpected absences, and modified duty of crewApprove timecards for payment, assuring compliance with applicable regulations and Company policyParticipate with interviews and selection of new hires, evaluate crew for awarding of job bidsIdentify, recommend, and participate in crew recognition, corrective, disciplinary and discharge actionsQualifications2 years’ prior supervisory experience in transportationPreference given to prior supervisory experience in transportationDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate a crew, with emphasis on people managementUnderstand trucking operations, with sufficient knowledge to address both preventative and corrective maintenanceProficient computer skills, including the ability to learn and use software programs, with sufficient knowledge to address both preventative and corrective maintenanceProven commitment to safety and Company policyAbility to handle multiple priorities under demanding circumstancesWhy Join Our Team?Because this is more than an invitation, it's a commitment to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth to everyone!
