Kā Huanui a Tāhuna is an alliance established in November 2020 between Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC), Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, and four leading design and construction partners - Beca, WSP, Downer New Zealand, and Fulton Hogan to deliver a series of cornerstone projects for Queenstown.We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join the Downer Infrastructure Delivery team as we mobilise for the Howards Drive Intersection Upgrade. This $15-20 million project features major roading improvements, full signalisation, and futureproofing of key transport assets. This exciting and challenging programme is enhancing safety and accessibility, supporting a better public transport system, expanding walking and cycling options, and delivering lasting benefits for both the local community and visitors to Queenstown.This is a great opportunity to step into a hands-on leadership role in breathtaking Queenstown! Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity The Supervisor will lead and manage construction crews on-site, overseeing all aspects of work to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This includes planning, organising, directing, and controlling daily activities to meet productivity, quality, and safety goals.A hands-on approach is essential, as the Supervisor will provide training and support to new team members while ensuring ongoing compliance with contract requirements. The role also involves supporting work outside regular hours to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.This is a full-time, permanent position with construction commencing in late 2025, and is expected to take approximately 2 years.
