Surveyor (Civil Engineer)Job Description:The Surveyor (Civil Engineer) is responsible for conducting site surveys, setting out alignments, levels, and reference points to ensure accurate execution of construction works according to approved drawings and specifications. The role demands strong technical skills in land surveying instruments, data interpretation, and coordination with site teams to ensure precision and quality in all civil engineering activities.Key Responsibilities:1. Surveying & Leveling:Conduct topographic and layout surveys for roads, buildings, and infrastructure works.Establish and maintain control points, benchmarks, and reference lines on site.Perform leveling, setting out, and alignment as per construction drawings.Ensure accuracy in horizontal and vertical measurements using total stations, auto levels, and GPS.Verify design coordinates and dimensions before execution.2. Site Execution Support:Provide accurate survey data to the Site Engineer and Project Team for layout and construction.Cross-check reinforcement positions, shuttering alignments, and structural dimensions.Prepare and update as-built drawings and layout plans after completion of works.Monitor and record excavation depths, foundation levels, and slab elevations.Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, design tolerances, and specifications.3. Documentation & Reporting:Maintain detailed records of survey data, field notes, and measurement reports.Prepare survey reports, level sheets, and daily progress summaries.Assist in quantification of earthwork, concrete, and road works for billing purposes.Coordinate with consultants and QA/QC teams for validation of levels and alignments.4. Equipment Management:Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and safe handling of all survey instruments.Maintain a logbook of instrument usage, calibration certificates, and field verifications.Report instrument faults or calibration issues promptly for rectification.5. Coordination & Compliance:Work closely with design engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.Adhere to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations during all field activities.Participate in toolbox talks and promote safety culture on site.Job Requirements:Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Surveying.Experience: 2–5 years of experience as a Surveyor in building, infrastructure, or road projects.Technical Skills:Proficient in Total Station, Auto Level, and GPS Survey Equipment.Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.Understanding of construction drawings and coordinate systems.Soft Skills:Strong analytical and mathematical ability.Accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.Good communication and teamwork skills.Benefits:Salary: As per company policy and experience level.Job Information:Job Location Type:On-SiteIndustry:EngineeringTimes Group is an equal opportunity employer.
