The capacity building model of criminal justice system transformation implemented by IJM includes individual support for survivors, support for government initiatives and jointly proposing policy changes to strengthen criminal justice systems (CJS) to respond effectively to human trafficking.The NeedThe Survivor Services Specialist for the Child Protection Compact (CPC) will be responsible for providing support on curricula development and training for multiple professional categories (law enforcement, prosecution, social work, psychologists etc.) with regard to victim identification and engagement in a victim-centered, trauma-informed way.The Survivor Services Specialist will work with government and civil society partners to ensure that victims receive comprehensive assistance and are offered emotional support, legal aid, medical care, counselling etc.Key Result AreasSurvivor Services Models. Contribute to the development of products, models, and resources to provide tangible value and guidance to government and non-government stakeholders, build innovative partnerships, and establish best practices for survivor services. Capacity Building. Develop and support implementation of capacity building initiatives, including but not limited to training, for relevant government entities. Identify and promote sustainability to ensure institutionalization of best practice initiatives. Networking & Partnership. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with government and non-government actors to promote and advocate for institutionalization of trauma-informed, victim-centered approaches to address child trafficking and protect survivors. Accompaniment. Support the Survivor Services team in casework and other operational work as relevant for the grant. Asses and document progress of survivors to inform project learnings and advocacy strategies and priorities. Roles And ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Knowledge Development, & Implementation:Ensure that the design, development, and implementation of Survivor Services programs under the CPC are aligned with IJM’s 2030 vision and IJM’s Global and Hub Survivor Services strategies, including the Global Survivor Network. In coordination with the Survivor Services team, develop and implement tools, models of care, products, and resources that will result in more effective and sustainable interventions for survivors. Contribute & facilitate process of developing and updating Survivor Services strategy for CPC, when needed. Training And DevelopmentIn collaboration with Survivor Services Department and casework leaders, identify areas of capacity building and deliver training to government stakeholders representatives. Develop, organize, deliver and facilitate high-quality multi-disciplinary training, workshops and other learning opportunities for criminal justice system and other relevant government stakeholders. Collaborate with project partners to ensure high quality, holistic and aligned capacity building initiatives for government stakeholders. Networking & PartnershipEstablish and nurture cooperative relationships with government and non-government stakeholders and relevant professionals, organizations, and coalitions. Represent IJM’s CPC Survivor Services team in coalition and stakeholder meetings, conferences, and workshops. CommunicationAct as a liaison between CPC Survivor Services & other programs implemented by IJM. Development of briefs, papers, fact sheets, and other communication resources as necessary that articulates IJM’s approach and strategy for Survivor Services. Ensure knowledge sharing and lessons learned among project team, promoting avenues for shared learnings and collaboration. Research, Program Management And M&EIn collaboration with the MERL team, support the data collection and analysis of Survivor Services standardized indicators for Child Protection Compact. Documentation, Reporting & Data ManagementWork with IJM team members to monitor and evaluate project performance, as it relates to project objectives, outcomes and outputs. Enters products, statistical, and training information into appropriate records management systems and databases (incident reports, trainings, etc.). Provides statistics of support activities and products for relevant reports upon request. SupervisoryThe Survivor Services Specialist reports to CPC Project ManagerThe Survivor Services Specialist is an individual contributor with no direct reports. Education & ExperienceAdvanced degree in psychology, social work or equivalent combination of bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Experience working on programs that serve survivors of abuse, trafficking, or of other traumatic experiences, required. Experience with child survivors is preferred. Preferred experience includes working internationally in developing countries and on multi-disciplinary teams. Fluency in oral and written communication of English required. Prior experience training. Effective public speaker.
