You’ll play a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance, certification integrity, audit readiness, and robust sustainability reporting across the organisation’s renewable fuels activities.This is a hands-on leadership position where you will shape processes, develop your team, and work closely with trading, operations, finance, and legal stakeholders to maintain full traceability and compliance within a rapidly evolving sector.What You’ll Lead & DeliverTeam LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Sustainability Assurance team.Ensure strong daily operations, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.Provide hands-on technical guidance on sustainability documentation, mass balancing, and audit preparation.Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and cross-functional collaboration.Operational & Regulatory ExcellenceOversee daily sustainability operations, ensuring complete accuracy and traceability under ISCC-EU, RED III, and national schemes.Guarantee timely regulatory and contractual submissions across multiple European countries.Manage internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance with emerging EU regulations (including RED/ETS2).Support internal stakeholders with scenario planning, reporting, and compliance insights.Subject Matter Expertise & AdvisoryApply deep expertise in biofuels sustainability, certification systems, and regulatory frameworks.Act as a key advisor for operational decisions and compliance challenges.Work closely with trading, operations, finance, and legal teams to maintain full end-to-end traceability.Drive continuous improvement across sustainability systems, processes, and the assurance framework.What We’re Looking ForDegree in sustainability, environmental sciences, business, finance or related field.5+ years’ experience in biofuels, sustainability operations, regulatory compliance, or certification auditing.Proven experience leading and developing teams.Strong technical knowledge of mass balancing, ISCC certification, and renewable energy regulations (RED, ETS2, etc.).Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and familiarity with sustainability or ERP systems.Fluency in English, plus Dutch, French, or Spanish (depending on market coverage).Why This Role?Lead a strategically important sustainability function.Work directly at the core of Europe’s renewable fuels and energy transition efforts.Shape processes, strengthen compliance, and enable business growth.Join a company scaling rapidly across sustainable energy markets.Applications from the EU region are welcome and my client can support relocation so if you have the relevant skills please APPLY NOW!
