Job Description

SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Virtualization Systems Administrator to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level virtualization environments. The role is responsible for supporting and optimizing both Linux and Windows-based systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability across multiple platforms. This position requires strong expertise in VMware, Linux KVM, and cloud orchestration technologies such as Apache CloudStack. The ideal candidate will also have experience in storage, networking, and disaster recovery, as well as a proactive approach to infrastructure optimization.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, deploy, and maintain large-scale virtualization infrastructures leveraging Linux KVM and Apache CloudStack.Perform daily monitoring, patching, and performance tuning across VMware vSphere and vCenter environments.Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux Server environments.Manage and optimize Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions such as VMware Horizon or Citrix.Support and maintain VoIP infrastructure and related communication systems.Install, configure, and manage enterprise server and storage hardware, including Dell servers and SAN systems.Monitor system capacity and proactively identify performance or capacity bottlenecks.Automate and streamline administrative tasks through scripting and automation tools.Act as an escalation point for complex issues involving virtualization, hardware, or networking.Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.Plan and implement backup, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure stability, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure.Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to system performance and reliability.QUALIFICATIONSCollege diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience (minimum 4 years).Proven experience managing Linux KVM hypervisors in enterprise environments.Strong background in VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN administration.Hands-on experience with Apache CloudStack or other cloud orchestration platforms.Proficiency in both Linux and Windows Server administration, including installation, patching, and performance monitoring.Experience deploying and maintaining VDI solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix, or similar).Knowledge of VoIP systems and network communication infrastructure.Experience with Dell enterprise hardware and Storage Area Networks (SANs) from various vendors.Strong understanding of networking principles (VLANs, SDN, routing, and switching) in virtualized environments.Experience managing infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and data center projects.Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.JOB REQUIREMENTSShould be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.Strong documentation and process management skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Willingness to participate in after-hours maintenance or on-call rotations when required.Commitment to continuous learning and keeping current with virtualization and cloud technologies.
