OverviewSystems Engineer Interns are responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of customer automation projects, supervised by an experienced engineer. Interns work in teams and take a comprehensive approach to solving problems, learning the details of each project’s mechanical, electrical, and software systems. If you do not meet all the qualifications but still feel that you would be a good fit in this role, we encourage you to apply.ResponsibilitiesInstrumentation and Electrical Design (20%)Create instrument lists by examining piping and instrumentation diagramsCompile submittal and procurement documentation for controls and instrument hardwareProvide technical support for panel fabrication techniciansInspect completed control enclosuresSystem Design and Configuration (30%)Participate in customer design review meetingsAssemble development system using project hardware and computersConfigure user interfaces and HMI screensConfigure various software, databases, IT equipment, Direct Digital Controllers (DDC), Programable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and/or Distributed Control Systems (DCS)Draft system documentation from templatesAssist in developing and performing customer demonstrations and acceptance testingOnsite System Startup (50%)Install project software and configuration onto site systemsPerform instrumentation and system startup and testingTroubleshoot installation discrepancies and program field modifications as requiredAssist with developing training documentation/presentation on operations and maintenance of systemQualificationsRequired QualificationsProfessional level English (C1, C2, or Native)Pursuing an Engineering Degree (MBO, HBO, MS, or BS)Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Engineering Technology or related degreePreferred QualificationsEntry level Dutch (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, or Native)Experience with one or more of the following platforms:Inductive Automation Ignition, or Python ProgrammingRockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix, PlantPAx, or FactoryTalkEmerson DeltaVSchneider Electric Modicon PLCs, EcoStruxure, PowerSCADA, Power Monitoring Expert (PME)National Instruments LabVIEWSiemens S7, PCS7, or WinCCMicrocontrollers, FPGA, or other embedded systemsOther: VMWare, Cisco or Fortinet branded software or equipmentOr similar IT, automation, or MES platform
