This role is responsible for proactively gathering, reviewing, and communicating tax legislative updates, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring the team delivers timely, accurate, and actionable tax knowledge to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background (preferably in tax law), deep understanding of MENA tax environments, and proven experience in knowledge management.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the monitoring, analysis, and communication of tax legislative and regulatory changes across the MENA region, with a focus on GCC markets.Oversee the development and dissemination of tax knowledge content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with firm standards.Drive the tax knowledge strategy, collaborating with senior leadership to identify priorities and support business objectives.Supervise and mentor a team of Tax Knowledge Writers and Researchers, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development.Liaise closely with the Tax Quality team to ensure all knowledge outputs meet the highest standards of compliance and risk management and ensure alignment with firm-wide quality protocols.Liaise with subject matter experts, legal advisors, and external stakeholders to validate and contextualize tax updates.Ensure the team’s output is tailored to the needs of various audiences (internal teams, clients, leadership).Develop and maintain processes for knowledge capture, storage, and retrieval, leveraging technology platforms.Support the implementation of new knowledge management tools and practices.Actively contribute to the firm’s brand and marketing initiatives by ensuring that key tax findings and insights are leveraged in marketing materials, thought leadership, and social media updates.Work with the marketing and communications teams to translate technical findings into accessible content for external publication and brand positioning.Represent the tax knowledge function in regional and global forums as required.Qualifications & ExperienceStrong legal background, ideally with a focus on tax law (LLB or equivalent required; LLM or similar advanced degree preferred).Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in tax, legal, or knowledge management roles, preferably within professional services or multinational environments.Deep understanding of MENA tax legislation, especially in GCC markets.Ideally, you’ll also haveExceptional analytical, research, and writing skills; ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable insights.Proven leadership and team management experience.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience working in multicultural, cross-border teams.Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills preferred.What We Offer YouCompetitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with experience and location.Opportunity to shape the tax knowledge agenda for a leading MENA tax practice.Continuous learning, leadership development, and career advancement.Diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.At EY, we’ll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences.
