Operates, monitors, secures, and controls the physical, data link, network, and transport layers of strategic and tactical communications including connectivity to local and wide area networks, end-to-end telecommunications and circuit switching systems, long-haul transmission, and the global information grid. Performs, coordinates, and supervises their design, configuration, operation, restoration, and improvements to include organizing and ordering of proper equipment necessary. Analyzes their capabilities and performance, identifies problems, and takes corrective action. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots various cryptographic equipment.Fabricates and installs various cable assemblies when needed. Performs facility self-inspections to ensure safety within the workplace as well as organization of equipment and cabling.Directs troubleshooting and makes operational adjustments to technical control and telecommunication transmission equipment to include but not limited to Promina systems (200/800), various modems (Canoga Perkins and PairGain), and various patch panels (DSX and ADC K-Patch). Works in conjunction directly with various other sections to include, but not limited to, Network/Systems Administrators, Outside Plant, and CISCO Call Manager. Program: OMDAC-SWACAThis position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus and tuition reimbursement program!You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country in order to be qualified for this position.Responsibilities Operates processor assisted diagnostic and control equipment and software to perform network, technical, and configuration control, surveillance, and security. Monitors status and performance of transmission and switching systems, local and wide area networks, and subscriber equipment. Operates test equipment to verify end-to-end circuit, system, and network signals meet minimum standards . Operates and monitors various network management hardware and software to ensure compliance with security standards and service levels. Configures circuits, trunks, links, and systems based on standards, traffic patterns, and results of quality assurance tests IAW with DISA regulations. Performs circuit, trunk, link, and system patching and cross connecting to establish, sustain, and restore service. Isolates failures and outages, performs operational adjustments, and troubleshoots circuit, trunks, links, and system equipment. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots various cryptographic equipment to test, reset, and rekey. Directs and coordinates TCF configuration, operation, security, restoration, and improvements. Communicates with subscribers, contractors, lateral agencies, and higher headquarters using secure and unsecure voice, data, electronic mail, web, or facsimile communications to schedule down-time and quality assurance tests, configures circuits, systems, and networks based on standards, traffic patterns, and results of quality assurance tests. Performs other duties and assignments as required. Qualifications Qualifications Security Clearance: Requires an active Secret Clearance Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High school diploma required, some college preferable. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (Training provided by contract) Experience: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree for three years general experience. Requires a minimum of 6 years’ operating experience in a military technical control facility or civilian equivalent within the last 10 years. TCF controllers are required to have a minimum of three years of experience working with Integrated Digital Network Exchanges (IDNX), specifically the Promina 200 and 800 systems. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be able to work rotating shift schedules which provide 24-hour day/7-day week coverage. Must be familiar with DISA operations circulars, DOD circuit actions and TSO/TSR processing requirements. Must be familiar with Remedy Action Request System for trouble tickets reporting, and various encryption devices, i.e. KG-84A, KG-175, etc., including device substitution, keying and re-keying. Experience with a customer service-oriented company.
