Job Description

Mission and objectivesThe WHO Country Office in Ukraine was established in 1994 to support the country’s sustainable health development. The WHO team in Ukraine consists of around 50 professionals who provide technical expertise and build national capacity on health-related matters. The priorities for the Country Office are set out in the biennial collaborative agreement between WHO/Europe and Ukraine. The Office implements the agreement in close collaboration with national institutions and international partner agencies.ContextWorld Health Organization Ukraine - the WHO Country Office in Ukraine was established in June 1994 to support the country’s sustainable health development. The WHO team in Ukraine consists of around 300 professionals who provide technical expertise on health-related matters and build national capacity through policy dialogues, strategic support, technical assistance, service delivery to fill gaps during emergencies, and adaptation of global norms and standards to the national context. The organization aims to maintain the resilience of Ukraine’s health system amid the war while continuing the reform agenda and moving towards the health system. The WHO Ukraine Country Cooperation Strategy for 2024-2030 focuses on three key priorities: ensuring access to universal quality health services for all, regardless of ability to pay, preventing and reducing major health risks, and building robust institutions. Home (who.int)Key responsibilitiesCoordinate facility operations for offices/hubs: contractors, service agreements, hygiene and safety.Plan office space and meeting rooms; manage parking; support generator operation and timely supplies (water/coffee/consumables), including IPO preparation/follow-up.Track and distribute office supplies, equipment and fixed assets; manage stores and inventories; organise and accept minor repairs/renovations.Support procurement and inventory processes related to facilities and assets.Provide secretarial support: correspondence/reports, calls/appointments, visitor management, duty-travel arrangements; maintain files and databases.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in administration, facilities/asset management or related field.Minimum 1 year of experience in administration/secretariat or facilities/asset management; UN/INGO experience is an advantage.Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with databases and office equipment.Languages: Ukrainian — fluent; English — fluent.Strong teamwork, communication, results orientation and flexibility.Eligibility (UNV Youth)Age: 18–80; national or legal resident of Ukraine.Conditions (National UNV Youth)VLA: USD 1,270/month (UAH equivalent) + Well-Being Differentials per ICSC hardship classification (“E” for Ukraine).Entry lump sum: USD 400 (one-time).Insurance: medical (for the volunteer and eligible dependants) and life insurance for the contract duration.Leave: annual — 2.5 days/month; learning — up to 10 working days/12 months; sick leave per UNV policy (certified/uncertified).Full-time; duration per vacancy notice; extension possible subject to funding, operational need and performance (no guarantee).Accommodation arranged by the volunteer.
