Wenco International Mining Systems (www.wencomine.com), a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), provides industry leading, innovative technologies to customers in the mining and material movement sectors, enabling sustainable and safe operations.Reporting to the Client Services Manager, the Technical Services Technician’s main responsibility is to provide remote and on-site Tier 0 support to clients. This role is to take direction from the Technical Analyst and Specialist roles.Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:In Office:Provide timely phone, email and remote access support for existing customersRetrieve site information to maintain duplicate system environments of existing clients for testing and troubleshooting purposesRecord/document all client issues through to resolution using Wenco’s issue tracking systemPlan and practice for system implementation and upgrade projects to assist Technical Services Analyst and Specialist rolesReview and contribute to product documentationOn Site:Assist Technical Services Analyst and Specialist roles to perform successful implementations and upgradesAssist in site inspections and reports in preparation of deploymentsAssist and provide one-on-one and classroom training on the use and administration of the systemTroubleshoot software, hardware and network issuesExperience and KnowledgeZero to 2 years of user and admin support experience for an enterprise class software systemMining experience/knowledge would be an assetReal-Time software systemsMobile ComputingCompetence and understanding of historic and current Wenco hardware platformsSound understanding of Windows servicesWindows networking experienceVirtual machine environmentsWindows server administration (moderate)Global Navigation Satellite Systems with an understanding of Real Time Kinematic systemsValid driver’s licenceSkills and Abilities Ability to learn, understand, and apply new processes and solutionsSolid technical, analytical and problem-solving skillsSolid written and verbal communication skillsStrong ability to work effectively both in a team environment and as an independent contributorAbility to prioritize and multi-task based on customer and business needsEducation and EligibilityDiploma in Electronics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related IT or mining discipline or practical experience to an equivalent level, preferably in miningAvailable for extensive travel (50%)>Eligible to work in South AfricaWenco advances the efficiency and safety of the world’s surface mining equipment through our fleet management systems.
