Telco Engineer

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Market Securities IT Department.You'll have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining the global networks withinthe organisation and between offices and different locations. You'll be involved in designing newnetworks and implementation.Your aim is to ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to providemaximum performance for your users and the global infrastructure, which will include but is notlimited to:• Routers• Switches• Gateways• Firewalls• Security• VPN• AppliancesKey Responsibilities• Plan, design and implement functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices• Monitor network performance and integrity• Resolve issues that have been escalated, by troubleshooting cloud/third party providersand local infrastructure• Automate tasks and monitor effectiveness• Mentor team members and give advice on technical issues• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disasterrecovery)• Communicate with users when required.• Maintain complete technical documentation• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability• Project managementRequirements• Proven hands-on network engineering experience (Palo Alto)• CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP would be desirable)• Excellent knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS,ToS, MPLS, WSD)• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model, WAN infrastructure and managementof Layer 2• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytic tools• Ability to sustain a high level of drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude when copingwith pressure at work• Works in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues and clients• Strong communicator (verbal and written)• Able to work in a team environment and under pressurised timelines• Excellent attention to detail and someone who will look to improve processes whererelevant• Degree or training in Computer Science or a related subject is highly desirable
