Job Objectives: The Test Analyst II is a crucial member of the quality assurance team, responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Digital Commerce Team meet functional specifications and business requirements through comprehensive testing. You will collaborate closely with the Test Lead, Functional Analysts, and Product Owners to develop and execute test strategies and plans. Your focus will be on: Translating acceptance criteria into clear, testable test cases. Identifying and obtaining the necessary test resources, including data, scenarios, and tools for both internal and external testing. Specifying the required test environment for accurate and thorough testing execution. Executing tests, recording results, and logging defects efficiently. Maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the testing process. Gaining a deep understanding of the application to ensure it meets business and customer expectations. Providing constructive feedback to the development team, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality requirements. Actively participating in sprint ceremonies and contributing to the documentation of lessons learned. Understanding and executing database script operations as required. Qualifications: Formal Education: Grade 12 Formal qualification (IT Diploma or Degree) Certifications: Software Testing Training (e.g., ISEB, ISTQB) Experience: 2 – 3 years of manual testing experience (essential) Experience in retail sectors (desirable) Exposure to API testing (desirable) Familiarity with automated testing tools (desirable) Knowledge and Skills: Testing Knowledge: 2 – 4 years of experience with functional testing, system testing, integration testing, and regression testing (essential) In-depth understanding of structured test methods and processes (essential) Proven experience in testing complex user interfaces (essential) Quality Assurance Practices: 2 – 4 years of solid understanding of testing concepts and QA’s role within Agile development methodology and Scrum management techniques (essential) Commitment to quality and a meticulous approach to work (essential) Testing Tools: 2 – 4 years of experience with test management tools such as Quality Center (QC) or Jira (desirable) Key Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Adaptability to changing priorities and requirements Please take note that by responding to this application and providing your personal information, you confirm your express and informed consent for Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd and all its subsidiaries and affiliates companies to process your personal information for the Company to consider your application for this position.
