In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in multiple aspects of construction project management, from budgeting and scheduling to subcontractor coordination and administrative support.

The Project Engineer will report to the Director of Construction in our San Diego office and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with project setup and maintain project records, including subcontractor documentation and project logs. Prepare, distribute, and track subcontractor contracts, change orders, and administrative documents. Request, evaluate, and log subcontractor insurance certificates. Support the project close-out process. Track overall project expenses. Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate tracking of subcontractor costs and Collaborate with Superintendents to update Procore daily logs, photos, and RFIs. Prepare and distribute new project documents to subcontractors and vendors. Process qualification statements for new subcontractors and vendors. Assist with budget management and job cost forecasting. Prepare and track change orders with clients.
Organize and maintain project documentation using Microsoft SharePoint. QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field required. 2+ years of experience in construction project management or a related field. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Procore, and Bluebeam. Willingness to learn new software programs. Basic knowledge of financial terms and calculations. Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong communication and collaboration skills with office and field personnel. Professional demeanor and ability to represent the company positively.
Familiarity with Sage Contractor 100 is a plus. Proven experience in commercial construction such as retail, fast food, gas stations and all non union private projects.
