Description:About The RoleThe Theatre Service Assistant (TSA) is responsible for providing support to the Theatre Suite team and ensuring optimum cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of the theatre area, in accordance with applicable standards.This role is responsible for handling sensitive material such as blood and human tissue and transporting/mobilising patients in theatre, so a level of comfort with exposure to this, is essential.This is a permanent role offered at 1.0 FTE or 40 hours per week role to be worked on a rotating roster Monday-Friday.Specific duties includeEnsure Theatre changeover and end of day cleaning is completed to the required standard All patient transportation is undertaken in a safe, timely and professional mannerMaintain supplies to ensure the efficient running of the theatre unitEnsure items for procedures are collected for the following day’s listsEnsure general tidiness of the area during the working daySkills and Experiences:Skills and Experience:Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not necessary Previous cleaning experience is essential Good interpersonal and communication skills Good attention to detail and time management Enthusiasm and a proactive, flexible attitudeTo be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.Why Mercy Hospital?Joining Mercy means more than just having a job, but being part of a team that works together towards a shared purpose.
