(Marine People Philippines) is looking for competent individuals with relevant seagoing experience, willing to be trained, challenged and expand their knowledge onboard our technically advanced container vessels with the best and latest machinery.We offerA key position in the engine department onboard one of the world’s largest Container shipping company where seafarers are onboarded and equipped to perform and contribute to deliver the vessel commitments. We ensure to prioritize health and safety, promote diversity and inclusion and at all times carry out the upright practice both at sea and ashore.Key responsibilitiesPerform engine room watch-keeping duties when required Perform work routines in his/her area of responsibility and as directed by theChief Engineer and/or Second Engineer Maintain generator engines and fuel injection equipment as required by thePMS and as directed by the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer Ensure that the generator engines are well maintained for optimumperformance and fuel consumption. Report any breakdown, failure ordeviation to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer Check stock of Generator and fuel injector spare parts to ensure minimumrequirements is kept at all times Maintain order and cleanliness in the generator engine room(s) and in otherwork areas Perform routine and maintenance activities, including breakdownmaintenance, as directed by the Chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer Ensure chemicals are used safely and as per Material Safety Data Sheetinstruction Instruct and supervise in the use of safety, environmental protection,firefighting and lifesaving equipment Understand the importance of briefing and debriefing to ensure efficientteamwork. Supervision of personnel in his/her charge including:Orientation.Health and safety.Environmental protection.Use of manuals and procedures.Proper use of tools and equipment.Standard maintenance and operating practices. Ensure work and rest hour planning is done regularly and requirements arecomplied with.
