Job Description

SUMMARY We are seeking a Group Controller to lead all accounting operations for both Tide Rock and our operating portfolio companies. This role is central to Tide Rock’s financial integrity, ensuring accuracy, and compliance leadership across the group. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical excellence in GAAP, deep experience in multi-entity consolidation, and the ability to lead accounting teams across varied systems and businesses. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team. This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in Solana Beach, CAResponsibilities:

Plan, direct, and control the company’s accounting activities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, statutory requirements, and internal policies. Evaluate, standardize, and strengthen internal controls across all portfolio companies to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency in financial reporting. Partner with portfolio company leadership to identify and remediate control weaknesses, implement scalable best practices, and support audit readiness. Establish, communicate, and implement financial strategies, objectives, and policies within approved budgets. Align key business functions with profitability, productivity, and cost-control targets. Oversee timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports. Monitor budgets vs.

actual results and provide variance analysis with actionable guidance to business leaders. Consolidate all financial data for accurate reporting of overall business results. Assess current accounting operations and implement process improvements. Supervise and guide a multi-entity accounting team, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Design and improve systems for vendor invoice prioritization and payments. Drive automation, quality improvement, and process efficiency initiatives across accounting functions. Lead and support ongoing ERP systems implementation and optimization. Standardize processes across entities with varying systems and reporting structures. Communicate financial performance, progress toward goals, and accounting initiatives to senior leadership.

Collaborate across finance, operations, and executive leadership to ensure aligned business outcomes. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity consolidation. Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within accounting or finance. Manufacturing or industrials experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
