Trade Finance Analyst - Venture search

OverviewOur client, a global physical trading company, is seeking a Trade Finance Analyst to support its Metals trading division. The role focuses on managing transactional financing, documentation, credit utilisation, and bank coordination for physical metals flows. The position is suited to someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and experience handling trade finance instruments for a commodities business.Key ResponsibilitiesTrade Finance Operations Handle end-to-end trade finance documentation for metals shipments Prepare and review LC applications, amendments, confirmations, and discounting requests Manage SBLCs, bank guarantees, trust receipts, and other structured instruments Ensure accurate and timely presentation of documents to banks in line with UCP600/ISBP standards Liaise with banks, brokers, and counterparties to ensure smooth execution and drawdownsTransaction Support Work closely with traders, operations, and risk to understand upcoming flows and financing requirements Track daily cargo movements, invoices, and payment schedules Support structuring of prepayment and inventory financing solutions Maintain visibility of credit exposure and bank line availability Ensure accurate booking of trade finance costs and chargesReporting & Controls Maintain up-to-date schedules of LCs, SBLCs, BGs, utilization, and expiry profiles Reconcile bank positions, financing costs, and interest accruals Prepare trade finance reports for management, including utilisation, liquidity needs, and bank capacity Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with corporate policies Ensure documentation and processes meet regulatory and internal control requirementsRisk Management Monitor credit limits, payment terms, and exposure to suppliers and customers Identify potential risks related to documentation discrepancies, shipment delays, or funding gaps Coordinate closely with the risk and treasury teams to mitigate financing and credit risks Escalate issues in line with company procedures
