Job Description
We are looking for a HCPC registered Trainee Consultant Biomedical Scientist with RCPath / IBMS Advanced Specialist Diploma in Pathology reporting (Stage C Final examination) and working towards competence for independent reporting. The post holder will be recognised as an expert in their field.The Trainee Consultant Biomedical Scientist is responsible for performing a wide range of complex scientific procedures as well as interpretation of biological samples. You will contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases and the investigation of other pathological processes.The post holder will have the knowledge and skills to carry out a variety of complex analytical procedures on a range of clinical specimens. They will make interpretative judgements using postgraduate level knowledge of Histopathology and focused knowledge of a specific tissue specialty. As well as undertaking complex macroscopic specimen dissection, they will be supported and trained to perform microscopic cellular analysis using both glass and digital images in order to provide reports which are used to guide the clinical management of patients.The post holder will have the knowledge and skills to use individual judgment to make decisions that will have an impact on the end product in order to facilitate the provision of accurate and timely reports within available resources.
