Employment Type: Temporary VariousRemuneration: - as per State AwardHours Per Week: 38Requisition ID: CAM24708What You'll Be DoingWe are seeking a high quality, dedicated and enthusiastic trainee to help support the delivery of education to medical students, prevocational trainees, Basic Physician Trainees and Advanced Trainees at RPAH. The primary function of this position is to work with the Clinical Superintendent of Medicine to help co-ordinate and support teaching and training of doctors in training.
In addition, the Medical Education Trainee will be expected to help provide some hospital ADO and day time sick relief cover for Basic Physician Trainees and Advanced Trainees. There will also be opportunities to attend ambulatory clinics, participate in research projects and undertake further studies. Responsibilities IncludeTo provide effective medical care to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment. Assistance in co-ordinating teaching and mentoring programs and curriculum development for JMO’s and Trainees in collaboration with the Medical Superintendent and Director of Prevocational Training. Organising trainee for written and clinical examination.
Assistance in the delivery of ALS and DETECT training. Assistance in the delivery of the RPAH Clinical Teacher Training course. Assisting in the delivery of junior doctor welfare programs such as MDOK. Participation in quality improvement activities including hospital committees and audits. Participation in relevant hospital committees. Supervision of the PGY2/3 medical education position. Providing rostered ADO cover for basic physician trainees for one day per week. Provide daytime sick relief cover for basic physician trainees and advanced trainees.

MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
Successful completion of the RACP Written and Clinical Examinations. A minimum of 3 years post graduate experience. Demonstrated commitment to medical education and training. Demonstrated ability in co-ordination and administration tasks required of a formal education program. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
