DescriptionMain Purpose:The Transportation Assistant provides administrative support to the Transportation Manager and facilitates the efficient operation of the transportation department. This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager.Essential FunctionsPlan transportation logistics for crew mobes, training, and urgent, time-sensitive deliveriesAssist Transportation Manager with any assigned tasksAssist in transportation services occasionally, including but not limited to driving the company van to pick up personnel, equipment, etc.Utilize Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel to help with tracking logisticsTake calls after normal working hoursWork late if needed to complete assigned taskPerform other duties assigned by supervisorBenefits OfferedEarned Wage AccessHealth, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid HolidaysPaid VacationLife InsuranceDisability InsuranceSafety AwardsCompany StoreEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)RequirementsPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerAbility to operate a motor vehicleMust be able to lift and/or move 15 pounds at timesJob Requirements2+ years of oil and gas industry experience in logistics, warehouse logistics, or transportation logisticsMust be local to Broussard, LAProvide and maintain a valid driver’s licenseMust be able to pass motor vehicle records (MVR) checkMust be proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and ExcelAbility to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesProblem-solving skillsWilling to take calls after normal working hoursWilling to work late if needed to complete assigned taskMust be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screenMust be able to pass background checkDesirable Experience, Education, And TrainingChauffeur licenseHighschool diploma or GEDOffice Assistant experienceTools, Equipment, And TechnologyOffice equipmentEnvironmental ConditionsMost of the work is done in an office environment.Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas.
