Our client, a global leading company, is recruiting for a Turf Groundsman to join their business in KSA - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.Position Title:Turf GroundsmanPosition TypePermanentStart Date:ASAPLocation:KSA-Kingdom of Saudi ArabiaContact:Davor Molnar | +49 (0) 89 23 88 98 63Education & QualificationsMinimum High School Diploma or equivalent (formal turf management qualifications preferred).Certification in Sports Turf Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field (desirable).Relevant training in the use of groundskeeping machinery and turf care equipment.First Aid and Health & Safety training certifications (advantage).Professional Experience10+ years hands-on experience in maintaining natural turf surfaces, ideally for sports facilities (football, golf, polo, equestrian fields, or cricket).Proven track record of preparing and maintaining turf to professional or international standards.Experience working with warm-season and cool-season grass species, including Paspalum, Bermuda, Ryegrass, and Zoysia.Practical experience in aeration, scarification, overseeding, topdressing, and irrigation management.Demonstrated ability to manage turf under different climatic conditions, especially in arid or high-temperature environments.Experience coordinating seasonal renovation works and annual turf maintenance programs.Technical SkillsProficient in the operation, maintenance, and minor repair of groundskeeping equipment (mowers, sprayers, rollers, verti-drains, etc.).Skilled in turf nutrition programs (fertiliser application, soil amendments, pH management).Knowledge of pest and disease identification, prevention, and treatment (IPM principles).Understanding of soil profiles, drainage systems, and irrigation programming.Ability to take soil and water samples and interpret test results for corrective action.Competent in marking and setting out sports pitches to regulation standards.Management & Leadership SkillsCapable of supervising junior grounds staff and seasonal workers.Experience in work scheduling, task allocation, and monitoring performance.Ability to liaise effectively with coaches, event organisers, and contractors to meet pitch requirements.Skilled in maintaining work logs, inventory, and equipment maintenance records.Physical & Personal AttributesPhysically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work in varying weather conditions.Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality playing surfaces.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure, especially before events.Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to irregular work hours, including weekends and evenings.Valid driving licence (preferably with ability to operate tractors and utility vehicles).Additional RequirementsWillingness to work extended hours during peak seasons or before major events.Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on turf management best practices.Familiarity with environmental and sustainability practices in grounds maintenance.
