We are looking for lead-organisers, organisers, campaigners, trainers/educators and industrial staff to join our team working out of Sydney.Capitalising on recent landmark wins, the coming years will see us step up our efforts even further to take on deadly supply chains and reform our transport sectors, whether that be gig transport, aviation or trucking. We are looking for union officials that are creative, hard-working and strategic to join our dynamic team. We know we must keep disrupting the status quo to keep bringing about real reform for transport workers to ensure they have a powerful voice.The TWU is seeking applicants from across the following areas to join the team: Lead Organiser Organiser/Campaigner Educator/Trainer Legal/Industrial Officer Communications/digital organisingThe Roles Assist in ongoing development, review and delivery of the union’s national education strategy Deliver the unions three tier national education delegates program and assist campaigns team with campaign delegate training programs To coach, mentor and empower delegates and members in classroom and on the road training Deliver training to support the development of organisers, officials and lead officials across the TWU When necessary to support the delivery of Governance training To create and update training materials and resources Work collaboratively National Education Steering Committee Contribute to campaign team planning and growth strategies Liaise with staff in other departments of the union to achieve success for the campaign. Build and manage relationships with staff in TWU state branches. Other tasks and responsibilities as directed by the National Secretary and Assistant National Secretary.Key Skills Required For The Roles A proven track record as a union trainer, educator, organiser or campaigner. Experience with supply chain campaigning, training or development a plus. A willingness to understand and implement union growth and sector consolidation strategies. Experience in training, developing or mentoring officials and/or delegates. Experience in WHS training is a plus. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communications skills, including demonstrated ability to write reports and draft internal and external communications. Good IT communications skills, including experience with Excel and digital communications. An interest in learning how to lead other team members. A commitment to labour values.The majority of roles will be based in our national office in Sydney, with some requiring interstate travel.However, Branches across Australia are also seeking to bring on additional people in similar roles, so we would also encourage interstate applications.
