Fiberglass Repairer/Painter

FIBERGLASS REPAIRER/PAINTER (PRPD-2025-22577): Bowhead seeks an experienced Outboard Engine Mechanic to join our team in Puerto Rico for maintenance of vessels and general maritime support in Ponce and San Juan. ResponsibilitiesDuties include but are limited to conducting Fiberglass repairs and all painting operations, applying decals, Cleaning, buffing, polishing and waxing vessels. Assisting the outboard Mechanics with the installation and rigging/de-rigging, diagnosing, and conducting repairs on customers outboard engines, boats and trailers.

Qualifications Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of Fiberglass Repairs using resins and epoxies, painting of vessels using approved marine coatings both topside and bottom paints as required. Must have experience in installing vinyl decals. Cleaning vessels. Polishing, Waxing of vessels. Maintaining all assigned vessels in a clean and ready for inspection/use status. Experience conducting fiberglass and aluminum repairs is a plus. Having the capability to conduct aluminum hull weld repairs in accordance with American National Standards Institute/American Welding Society standard - ANSI/AWS D3. 7. is desirable but not required.

Valid Driver’s License is required and qualified candidates must be able to obtain a US Passport. Able to lift 75lbs on occasion and work in tight and cramped spaces on small boats. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts, ability to work well with Customers. Certifications from Mercury Marine is a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Public Trust clearance is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.
