This role sits within a niche segment of the insurance industry, supporting unique and complex risks including AD&D, Disability, Critical Illness and Out of Country Medical. You will be joining a group of experienced professionals who value partnership, expertise and innovative thinking.As part of a close-knit underwriting department, you will work directly with brokers, clients and internal colleagues to evaluate risk, prepare proposals and help deliver customized solutions for diverse client groups. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, values accuracy and thrives in an environment where no two files are the same.What’s in it for You• A supportive team that values mentorship, professionalism and continuous learning • Exposure to complex and specialized insurance products that will expand your underwriting expertise • A stable, reputable organization with strong leadership and long-standing client relationships • A culture that encourages initiative, collaboration and career developmentYour Responsibilities• You will underwrite new and renewal business across multiple product lines including AD&D, Disability, Critical Illness and Out of Country Medical • You will act as the account manager for assigned in-force groups, ensuring strong service and responsiveness • You will communicate with brokers and clients through phone and written correspondence, ensuring clarity and professionalism • You will support proposal development for RFPs and assist with onboarding new accounts • You will attend client meetings with colleagues when needed and provide additional support across the departmentSkills and Qualifications• 3+ years of underwriting experience within insurance markets • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with comfort engaging directly with clients and brokers • Proficiency in Word and Excel and strong organizational abilities • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work independently • Bachelor’s degree preferred and bilingualism considered an assetNote from the Hiring Manager“We are a small but highly collaborative team.
