Over the course of 12 months, participants will gain exposure to real business challenges, receive mentorship, and develop professional and technical skills while contributing meaningfully to the company’s operations.Participants will be placed across different functional areas within the Maydon Wharf Factory in Durban, where they will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.Programme PurposeThe Unilever YES Internship Programme Aims ToProvide meaningful work experience and practical learning opportunities.Help participants develop essential professional and workplace skills.Offer exposure to the corporate world, preparing candidates for future employment.Contribute to national youth development and empowerment initiatives.Main ResponsibilitiesAs part of the YES Programme, participants will take on support functions across the factory. Responsibilities may include:Assisting teams with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.Supporting continuous improvement and efficiency projects.Maintaining records and helping ensure compliance with company standards.Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth departmental performance.Learning and applying best practices in industrial and operational settings.These responsibilities are designed to give participants a comprehensive, hands-on experience that enhances both technical and professional competence.Minimum RequirementsTo qualify for the Unilever YES Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:South African citizen, aged 18–34 yearsCurrently unemployed and not enrolled in full-time studiesCompleted Bachelor of Science or BTech in Industrial EngineeringMust not have more than 2 years of work experienceMust not have completed a YES Programme previouslyWilling to commit to the 12-month full-time programmeStrong academic recordExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong computer literacy and time management abilitiesPositive attitude and willingness to learnAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentThese requirements ensure candidates are ready to thrive in Unilever’s dynamic workplace while gaining skills that enhance long-term employability.Unilever’s Core BehavioursUnilever’s culture is defined by a set of guiding behaviours that every employee embodies:Care Deeply: We care about our consumers, our people, and our planet.
