About UNLEASHUNLEASH is a global initiative committed to bringing youth together to share ideas, build networks and develop innovative and scalable solutions to co-create a sustainable future. Our mission is to accelerate positive change by mobilizing young talented people in community leadership, problem-solving, and launching social and environmental solutions. Every year, we bring together young people from across the world for Innovation Labs, organize dozens of local hacks with our community, and equip youth with innovation skills through our Innovation Hub. UNLEASH has engaged 9,000 young people from 180 countries and facilitated the development of 1,200 purpose-driven solutions with +1000 partners.

Since 2017, UNLEASH has run innovation programs in 70+ locations, including Innovation Labs in Denmark, Singapore, China, Greenland, India, Rwanda, and Brazil. Today the UNLEASH Secretariat consists of a small, agile team of 6 staff members spanning 6 different nationalities, mainly based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The new Secretariat Member will be based in our Copenhagen office. Roles and responsibilitiesWhile you will join a small and agile team that often supports a wide variety of tasks that shift based on our in-person programming schedule, your core roles and responsibilities will include:

PartnershipsPartner outreach and relationship buildingGrant writing and proposal development, including alignment of partner commitments to partner reporting and MEL workstreamsPartnership management trackingCoordination with team members to align on proposal development and program requirementsMonitoring all partner reporting deadlinesEnsuring all required partner reporting data is captured by coordinating with the required workstreamsPreparation and timely submission of reportsImpact Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)Overall MEL strategy and planning, including ensuring alignment to UNLEASH’s Theory of Change, program outputs and outcomes, and commitments to partnersExecution of our MEL surveys (including annual impact survey, program surveys), data analysis, and integration of data into partner proposals and partner reportingPlanning and management of our Annual Impact Report and any programmatic impact reports in collaboration with program staffIntegration of MEL findings into internal team learning processesWe aim for all Secretariat members to keep 10% of their staffing flexible, and this staffing will depend on what programs and tasks are most urgent or strategicAs with all Members of the Secretariat, your tasks may be adjusted based on our current programming needs.

There will also be opportunities to travel for our in-person programming. QualificationsWe are looking for a candidate with:

Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Global Development, Business, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related fieldProven commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, innovation and entrepreneurship, user-centered design-thinking, and/or youth-driven projectsA global outlook and high level of comfort with engaging in multi-cultural and highly diverse working environments5 years of direct experience in grant writing, proposal development, and fundraising within the nonprofit or social-impact sectorDemonstrated track record of securing and managing multi-year grants, including full ownership of donor reporting cyclesExceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling grant proposals, reports, and partner updatesExcellent analytical skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, dashboard/report creation) a strong plusStrong Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) competencies, including survey design, data collection/analysis, and integration of insights into programmatic and partner documentsExcellent project-management skills; highly detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple deadlinesComfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a small, agile, multicultural teamFluency in English; fluency in Danish would be an advantageExcitement about being a part of a diverse Secretariat, and with a collaborative and caring way of engaging with team members, with international stakeholders, with our community, and with the very mission of UNLEASHThis is an in-person position in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Candidates are expected to primarily work from the UNLEASH office, located in Copenhagen, on a regular basis, with the opportunity to work remotely.
