Cyber Security Engineer

We are looking for a talented Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team of IT professionals on behalf of a government sector client based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Key Responsibilities: 🔹 Risk Assessment & Security ManagementConduct cybersecurity risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Implement security policies and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR). 🔹 Security Operations & SOC ManagementDevelop, monitor, and manage Security Operations Center (SOC) functions. Utilize SIEM, EDR/XDR, and Threat Intelligence tools to detect and respond to security incidents. Analyze security events and implement corrective actions.

🔹 System & Network SecurityDesign, implement, and configure firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and email security solutions. Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance for cloud and on-premise environments. Strengthen security controls for servers, endpoints, and critical infrastructures. 🔹 Incident Response & RemediationDevelop and execute incident response procedures. Coordinate with IT and security teams to recover systems after cyberattacks. Provide cybersecurity awareness training for employees. Required Qualifications: 🎓 Academic BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Management, Digital Security, Network & System Security, or a related field. Alternatively, a degree in Data Communications combined with a relevant professional cybersecurity certification.

💼 Professional ExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles after obtaining the required degree. Hands-on experience in SOC operations, risk assessments, incident response, SIEM, firewalls, VPNs, and IPS solutions. 🎯 Preferred CertificationsCISM, CRISC, CISSP, or equivalent professional security certifications.
