Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable U.S. Tax Reviewer with an active U.S. CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation -preferred but NOT REQUIRED. The role involves reviewing federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Key responsibilities include ensuring tax compliance, identifying savings opportunities, reviewing workpapers prepared by junior staff, and providing mentorship and guidance to the team. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in U.S. tax codes and multi-state taxation, and experienced with tax software such as Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake, or UltraTax.Key Responsibilities:Review and finalize U.S. federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041, and others.Evaluate tax workpapers and schedules prepared by junior team members for accuracy and completeness.Identify areas for tax savings and flag potential compliance issues.Ensure all filings adhere to IRS regulations and relevant state tax laws.Provide training, guidance, and constructive feedback to junior tax staff and accountants.Collaborate with colleagues and engage with clients when necessary to resolve tax-related concerns.Stay informed on updates to U.S. tax laws, codes, and IRS guidelines.Support tax planning, forecasting, and year-end tax strategies.Who are we looking for?Minimum of 5 years of U.S. tax experience, including recent tax return review work, preferably within a public accounting firm.Strong knowledge of U.S. tax codes and multi-state taxation.Proficient in tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake, UltraTax, or similar).U.S. CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, active and in good standing. Preferred ONLY and not a MUST HAVE.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
