UX Designer Internship

Department: Research & DevelopmentLocation: CRI-Costa Rica-BelenDescriptionWe’re looking for a UX Design Intern to join the Platform Experiences (PEX) team at Align Technology. This internship offers hands-on experience in designing intuitive, elegant, and scalable digital solutions that connect the Invisalign®, iTero®, and exocad® ecosystems.You’ll work alongside experienced designers, product managers, and engineers to help shape the future of digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry. This role is ideal for students who are passionate about human-centered design, eager to learn in a fast-paced environment, and interested in how design can make a meaningful impact in healthcare technology.Role expectationsRole Responsibilities Collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers to support the delivery of user-centered solutions. Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that align with the Align Design System (ADS) and product requirements. Participate in user research and assist in translating insights into design recommendations. Contribute to design critiques, apply feedback, and continuously refine your design craft. Help ensure design consistency, usability, and accessibility across platforms. Learn how to work effectively within a cross-functional, global design organization.What We're Looking ForEducation: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human–Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or a related field.Experience: Academic or project experience demonstrating understanding of user-centered design principles. Prior internship or real-world design experience is a plus.SkillsBasic proficiency in Figma or other design tools.Strong visual design sense and attention to detail.Professional level English proficiency suitable for collaborating with global teams.Curiosity to learn about design systems, accessibility, and research methods.
