Location: Japan – NagoyaWork Type: Full-Time (On-site)Experience Required: 4–6 Years in UI/UX DesignCompensation: YEN 8,000,000 – 10,000,000 AnnualEligibility: Japanese Language Proficiency (JLPT N2 or above) & English (Business Level – TOEIC 700+)Job OverviewA global technology solutions provider is seeking an experienced UX Engineer / IVI Functional Lead to design, develop, and implement high-quality user experiences for next-generation in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. This role requires strong expertise in UI/UX design, prototyping, and HMI system knowledge, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, visually appealing, and functionally sound digital interfaces for automotive applications.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end design of IVI software functionality across modules such as media, navigation, connectivity, and HVAC.Develop and maintain design guidelines, style guides, and corporate identity systems ensuring consistent brand expression.Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and interactive UI components using Figma, Adobe XD, or equivalent tools.Conduct user research, persona creation, and usability testing to drive design decisions.Develop wireframes, user journeys, and information architecture documentation.Ensure compliance with UX, accessibility, and automotive HMI design standards.Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and implementation integrity.Drive continuous improvement in usability, interaction design, and cross-platform responsiveness.Must-Have Requirements4+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design.Proficiency in design tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator (or equivalents).Expertise with prototyping tools: Figma, InVision, or similar.Strong grasp of design principles, UX research methodologies, and human-centered design.Experience in responsive design, cross-platform interfaces, and component libraries.Knowledge of HMI, digital cockpit, infotainment systems, or connected car functionalities.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.Strong collaboration and communication skills in both English and Japanese.Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience in automotive design environments or embedded system UX.Familiarity with Material Design and automotive-specific HMI guidelines.Exposure to UI development or frontend implementation processes.Understanding of system integration between UX/UI and engineering teams.Employment Terms & BenefitsAnnual Salary: YEN 8,000,000 – 10,000,000 (paid monthly, 1/12th each month).Annual Appraisal: Once a year.Commuting Allowance: Up to YEN 20,000/month.Insurance Coverage: Health, pension, employment, and accident insurance.Health Checkups: For employees and dependents (includes specialized exams).Retirement Age: 65 (option to continue as consultant).Training: Online and in-house training programs.Trial Period: 3 months (no change in terms).Work Environment: Non-smoking indoors (strict compliance).
