Job DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION (Analyst):Under direct supervision, assist in the collection and analysis of data for senior staff to use in order to formulate an opinion of the market value of real estate for the purposes of dispute resolution, mortgage underwriting, acquisition/disposition, portfolio analysis and estate purposes.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES:Collects, analyzes, and reports appraisal related market data through internal and outside sourcesResponsible for understanding all company research related database programsWill inspect properties as part of the valuation process along with Senior AppraiserAssists in the preparation of sections of appraisal reports under the direct supervision of a State Certified AppraiserUnderstands all necessary software programs used to prepare valuation reportsWill continue training on current government regulations, zoning laws and appraisal standardsUnderstands and utilizes necessary third-party data sourcesMay perform other duties as assignedSkills, Education And ExperienceBachelor’s Degree (preferably in real estate or other related subjects such as economics & finance); preference is given to MS or MBA in Real EstateAt a minimum, must have or will obtain appraiser trainee license issued by the appropriate State BoardProficient in Excel and WordKnowledge of Argus is a plusPreference given to prior professional experience in real estate analysis, market research or related fieldStrong analytical, writing and communication skillsStrong organizational and multi-tasking skillsWORKING CONDITIONS: Normal working conditions with the absence of disagreeable elementsNOTE: The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.Newmark is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
